Garden Week in Fredericksburg is ushering in the opportunity for locals to explore some little-known courtyards behind Caroline Street storefronts.

The courtyards behind behind the Fredericksburg Visitor Center, Beck’s Antiques & Books and Ponshop Studio (706, 708, 710 and 712 Caroline St.) will be open to tour participants from 3 to 7 p.m. April 25 and will feature refreshments, music and art as part of the Garden Club of Virginia’s annual Historic Garden Week.

The courtyards can be accessed from a walkway behind the downtown courthouse and, except for the Visitor Center, are not typically open to the public.
