Experience Living In Fredericksburg VA
The city of Fredericksburg VA is a great area to live or visit for any age demographic. From the appeal of the historic homes in downtown Fredericksburg to the college presence of Mary Washington's campus, there's always something going on and something to do. The many independently owned shops in downtown are a great way to support local business and economic growth. The Farmers Market is a great way to support local businesses as well. Vendors are present year-round, but the market is managed from the third Saturday in April through the last Saturday in October. While Saturday is the primary market day, some vendors choose to participate in market days throughout the week. In the summer, vendors are generally present Monday-Saturday, from 7:00am through 2:00 pm. The market sets up in downtown at Hurkamp Park, located at Prince Edward and George Streets. From coffee shops to bookstores and boutiques there is pretty much something for everyone to check out. You can also go tubing, kayaking, or swimming in The Rappahanock River, or take a walk or jog on one of the several trails in the area. There is also a ton of history to see, from Mary Washington's home to civil war battlefields and the Apothecary shop.
